A well-balanced low calorie diet is the basis for any weight loss program. Each person’s age, sex, daily activity level, ideal weight, health and other factors are taken into consideration in determining the amount of calories to be consumed daily. Diets balanced with good nutrition and a change in lifelong eating habits will take the weight off and keep it off. The diet must be kept “balance”, that is, eating adequate portions of protein, fruit and vegetables. Avoid fats, oils, and fried foods. Eating regularly is part of behavior modification and includes eating the right foods.
